This Can’t Be Good

In a new on-going feature of The Kenny Ho Show blog, and possibly the actual podcast…if I ever get around to doing another one. This Can’t Be Good will focus on things that will surely be a huge waste of time and money for those involved and us the paying public. For the first post, I give to you: American Ultra.

This movie is coming out in a couple weeks and I’ve never heard of it until now. There’s a good chance my life would be better if I never heard of it at all. Looking at the trailer it looks like a movie that doesn’t know what it’s trying to be. You have a cool premise in a super sleeper agent, but then you have him look like MacGruber…that’s actually what this film looks like, Macgruber with super skills.

It stars Jesse Eisenberg, which makes me hate this right away (worst Lex ever anyone?) Kristen “I got one emotion” Stewart, and Eric Fordman from That 70’s Show. That’s the worst cast I’ve seen assembled in a few years. I don’t know who is a huge fan of any of those people. Even the Twilight crowd doesn’t like Stewart.

I almost laughed out loud when I saw the trailer. Who greenlit this movie? Who asked for this movie? Who asked for a comedy featuring Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart? I don’t think Bella has ever told a joke in her life. And the last time I saw Topher Grace be a villain he frakked up venom.

This can’t be good…because John Leguizamo is in it which means at best this thing is a B movie.
